Leadership
Peter S. Rauner, Founder and President, is an insurance professional with extensive background in actuarial, underwriting, claims, regulatory compliance and information systems design. During more than 15 years working for medium and large size, international insurance corporations, Pete has worked closely with multi-disciplinary executive teams to design and coordinate the implementation of effective primary and reinsurance business strategies to analyze and manage their risk portfolios. Prior to founding RMS Solutions, Inc., Pete's ability to lead has demonstrated itself through various roles including Assistant Vice President with CNA Insurance Companies, MMI Companies and The St. Paul Companies.
In 2001, Pete formed RMS Solutions, Inc. to provide management consulting services to providers and consumers of the property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry. As a consultant, Pete brings a well rounded background and a unique perspective to assist clients identify and manage their exposure to business risks. In this capacity, Pete has assisted clients through the regulatory processes of attaining certificates of authority (COA) to write insurance on an admitted basis, formation of captive insurance companies in both domestic and offshore domiciles and approval for P&C rates, rules and forms. Pete has also provided consulting services in many other areas including loss reserve certification, ratemaking, statutory financial modeling, large account pricing, expert testimony, assumed reinsurance run-off, ceded reinsurance treaty analysis and product development.
Pete has attained the highest designation, Fellow, offered to members of the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) and has been a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (AAA) since 1995. Pete holds a Master of Arts degree in Actuarial Science from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Earlham College, Richmond, Indiana. Pete is recognized and approved by regulatory authorities as an actuarial specialist in both domestic and offshore jurisdictions and is a member of the AAA's subcommittee on Medical Malpractice.
